About the Board of Directors

Highland Rescue Team Ambulance District is governed by a five-member board of directors. Directors are volunteers and serve two, four-year terms. The district staff manages the day-to-day operations and work closely with the board on long-term, strategic planning. 

Board members provide guidance to the district from a variety of backgrounds. This includes former Highland volunteers, those with careers in healthcare or finance, and other expertise. With a small staff, Highland's board is a critical resource for serving our community well. 

How to Join the Board

Anyone who lives or owns property in Highland's district is eligible for the board. Directors are nominated every two years in odd years. The next call for self-nominations will be issued in January 2027. 

If there are more nominees than board positions available, there will be an election in May 2027. If there are the same number of nominees as board positions, the election is cancelled and those nominees will be declared elected to the board. More information will be posted to the district's website and social media in early 2027.

The board is governed by Colorado Revised Statues Title 32 regarding Special Districts.
