Highland Rescue is a great place to give back to the community while learning new skills, making new friends, and advancing your career in Emergency Medical Services (EMS).
We accept applications from:
- Paramedics, AEMTs, or EMTs from outside our district
- Anyone who lives within our district

What We Expect of Members
- Complete three 12-hour (7:00 to 7:00) shifts per month. During probation, you are expected to be at Highland for day shifts.
- Complete three ambulance checks per quarter.
- Attend two hours of in-house training per quarter.
- Intent to stay with the team for at least two years.
- Maintain basic minimum certifications and proficiency.

This is a competitive process. We receive more applications than there are spots available. For the most recent application cycle, we had 30 candidates for 6 spots.

- Fill out an online application.
- A Highland team member will contact you by phone. If you get a call or voicemail from 303-526-9571 please answer.
- Prospective members are required to do three ridealongs with Highland. Ridealongs are day shifts only from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m.
- Based on ridealong feedback, 10-15 applicants are invited to do a skills test with Highland's Training Director.
- Based on skills testing, 5-10 applicants will be invited to interview with Highland leadership.
- Offers to attend orientation and become a probationary member will be made following the interviews.
- Orientation is two full weekend days. Probation begins after orientation and typically takes six months for members to complete.
