Highland Rescue is a great place to give back to the community while learning new skills, making new friends, and advancing your career in Emergency Medical Services (EMS). Whether you're an experienced EMS practitioner or have never stepped foot in an ambulance, you can play an important role in our team.
What You Get From Highland

What We Expect of Members
- Complete three 12-hour (7:00 - 7:00) shifts per month
- Complete three ambulance checks per quarter
- Intent to stay with the team for at least two years
- Maintain basic minimum certifications
- Attend continuing education
Application Process
- Review membership requirements above. If you're still interested, fill out our initial application using the "Membership Applicaton" link at the end of this page.
- A Highland team member will contact you by phone. If you get a call or voicemail from 303-526-9571 please answer.
- Prospective members are required to do three third-rides with Highland. Third rides are day shifts only from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.
- Members are invited to do a skills test with Highland's Training Director.
- The final step is an interview with Highland leadership. Offers to attend orientation and become a probationary member will be made following the interviews.
Orientation takes place twice a year in April and September.
Applications for our Fall Membership Class are closed as of August 13, 2024. Prospective members who fill out the application after August 13, 2024, will be considered for our Spring 2025 class.
