Mission
Improve recruitment and retention of volunteers by offering opportunities to further their education. Strengthen and enrich the team by assisting with members' personal growth and goals.
Eligibility
- Members must have been part of Highland Rescue Team Ambulance District (HRTAD) for at least 1 year.
- Members must have met all membership requirements for at least the last two calendar quarters. This includes continuing education hours, shift hours, and ambulance checks. If you're unsure whether you have met requirements, contact your squad leader or Laura.
- Members can receive more than one scholarship. The maximum award to a single person per 12-month period is $2,500. The 12-month period begins on the date of your application.
- There is no lifetime limit on scholarship money received.
- Partial scholarships may be offered.
- Scholarships are available for current or future course work. Course work does not have to be EMS-related.
- Members may apply for a scholarship prior to being accepted into a class or program.
- If members need to put a deposit down on a class prior to receiving a scholarship, if awarded a scholarship, the program will reimburse the member for such a deposit.
The selection committee will also consider:
- Dedication to our community
- Ability to serve as a positive ambassador of HRTAD
- Length of service with HRTAD
- Financial need
Timeline
Scholarships will be awarded throughout the year on a rolling basis. An award decision will be made within 30 days of submission.
